The conventional meaning for any double jump response inside a new suit is really a pre-empt. However, after partner has opened up, it's not appealing to pre-empt towards the four-level. You might miss the very best place of 3NT. Generally, it's of limited use to pre-empt opposite a dent bid, because the competitors are unlikely to go in the putting in a bid anyway. The playing strength is 7 nonwinners or better. It's best to not splinter having a very effective side suit. Show this hands by putting in a bid along side it suit first, supporting partner later.
